Photo tips
Your phone photo is enough.
Here is what our artists love to work from, and what makes their job hard.
What works great
- Daylight. Light from a window beats an indoor lamp every time.
- Close up. Their face should fill at least half the frame.
- Eyes visible. The eyes carry the personality.
- One pet per photo. Adding a second pet is an add-on on most products.
What to avoid
- Far-away shots where your pet is one of many things in the frame.
- Costumes, hats or sweaters that hide the face.
- A bright window directly behind them.
- Screenshots from videos, which pixelate when printed.
When in doubt, send it anyway
If the photo will not work, our artists email you and ask for another one. No fee, no fuss. For memorial orders, old or blurry photos are fine. We are used to it, and we will make it work.
